To help you plan your long weekend, we’ve rounded up all 8 official city-sanctioned celebrations. Grab your lawn chairs, pack a blanket, and get ready for a brilliant show.
Harbourfront Centre
Celebrate Canada Day at Harbourfront Centre with a full day of free family-friendly festivities along Toronto’s waterfront. Visitors can enjoy live music, public art, local food vendors, soccer-themed activities, and the new Ontario Science Centre location before ending the day with a spectacular fireworks display over Toronto’s inner harbour at 10:45 p.m.
Ashbridges Bay Park
If you want the ultimate Canada Day experience, this is it. While the fireworks kick off over the lake around 10 p.m., the party starts much earlier at neighboring Woodbine Park for the annual Q107 Canada Day Picnic. You can spend the afternoon rocking out to tribute bands, eating from food trucks, and then head down to the shoreline to see the city’s largest pyrotechnic display launch directly over Lake Ontario.
Mel Lastman Square
North York’s central hub is hosting a memorable community celebration packed with live music, family-friendly entertainment, and plenty of food vendors. The entire square will be bustling with energy all afternoon before wrapping up with a dazzling fireworks finale under the stars at 10 p.m.
Centennial Park
Etobicoke residents won’t have to travel far for a world-class show. Centennial Park’s sprawling green space is the perfect backdrop for a full day of outdoor fun. You can check out the indoor plant conservatory, hit the bike park, or set up an epic family picnic before turning your eyes to the sky at 10 p.m. for their free fireworks display.
Stan Wadlow Park
Home to one of the longest-running Canada Day traditions in Toronto! The East York festivities actually kick off in the morning with a massive parade starting at Dieppe Park at 10:30 a.m., winding its way to Stan Wadlow Park. The park will be buzzing all afternoon with main stage performances, local vendors, and activities before closing out the night with a bang at 10 p.m.
Milliken Park
For those in Scarborough, Milliken Park is the place to be. This gorgeous green space features a beautiful pond and boardwalks, making it a highly scenic spot to watch the night sky ignite. Just bring a cozy camping chair or a large blanket, stake out a spot on the grass, and enjoy the free show at 10 p.m.
Amesbury Park
Another fantastic North York option, Amesbury Park is hosting a complete community celebration. Come out early to enjoy local food and fun activities, and stay until dark to watch the neighborhood sky fill with brilliant colors during their free 10 p.m. display.
Nathan Phillips Square (Soccer & FIFA Watch Party)
Note: This event features all-day celebrations, but does not host its own fireworks.
If you want to skip the traditional fireworks and catch a different kind of excitement, head straight downtown. Because Toronto is a host city for the FIFA World Cup 2026, Nathan Phillips Square is transforming into a massive soccer celebration. You can participate in “Skills & Drills” on mini-pitches, enjoy global cultural performances, and catch a live evening watch party of the historic World Cup Round of 32 game.
