A whimsical world of twinkling lights and moonlit trails has arrived just outside the city, offering a magical way to embrace the winter season.
Located just an hour’s drive from Toronto, Winterlit at Mountsberg is officially back for the winter, inviting guests to step into an award-winning outdoor art display that transforms the forest into a glowing wonderland. Whether you’re looking for a romantic date night or a unique family outing, this celebration of nature and community is one of the most enchanting ways to spend a chilly evening.

Visitors can embark on a moonlit stroll across two distinct paths: the Illuminated Sugar Bush and the Winterlit Trail. Spanning approximately two kilometres combined, these trails feature stunning, sustainably sourced art installations that light up the night sky. Along the way, you can warm up at various Fireside Lounges, browse the cozy “Book Nook” for a literary swap, or even enjoy free maple syrup tastings to get a true taste of the season.
For those looking to enhance their visit, Winterlit is hosting an exclusive Enchanted Evening on February 14. The special event turns the magic up a notch with a licensed Glow Bar, live fire and light performances by Ember Circus, and a lineup of talented local musicians, including singer-songwriter Hayley Verrall and violinist Benji Crane.

If you’re planning a family visit, there’s an extra reason to celebrate: over the Family Day long weekend, children aged 14 and under can experience the wonders of Winterlit for free!
From nature-nerd trivia nights to stargazing hikes and wood-branded souvenirs, there are plenty of ways to customize your adventure. You can find the full schedule and grab your tickets on the Conservation Halton website.
Winterlit runs for select dates from December 31 through February 16. Non-member tickets are priced at $23 for adults.
