With Lunar New Year just days away on February 10, a Toronto mall is celebrating in a big way with an elaborate 40-ft tall 3D dragon and a range of other festivities in the coming days.
Yorkdale Mall just revealed the gigantic golden dragon in their East Court, along with a complimentary photo booth, runway floor decal and golden archways to snap photos with.
Falling on Sunday, February 10 this year, Lunar New Year welcomes the arrival of spring and start of a new year based on the lunisolar calendar.
As one of the most significant gift-giving events in many Asian cultures, many of the stores within the mall will also be offering limited edition Lunar New Year collections.
On February 6 and 7, Burberry will offer exclusive collections in shades of radiant reds and auspicious colours that embody luck and prosperity.
Head to Holt Renfrew for everything from Chinese printing and sugar painting to music from a Chinese traditional quartet and a dragon dance.

You can catch the mall’s massive dragon installation until February 25. From February 5 – 9, there will also be complimentary Calligraphy with New Year blessings while supplies last.
Toronto will have a ton of other events and activities throughout the city for Lunar New Year, from lantern festivals to a Dragon Ball.
