Just in time for Thanksgiving weekend, a popular party platter item has been recalled.
Loblaw Companies Limited has issued a food recall alert across Canada for select frozen shrimp ring products due to an undeclared allergen.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency warns that affected packages contain mustard that is not listed on the ingredient label. For anyone living with a mustard allergy or severe sensitivity, consuming these items could trigger a serious or life-threatening reaction.
The Recalled Products
The recall covers two specific frozen shrimp items sold across Loblaw retail locations, including Loblaws, No Frills, Real Canadian Superstore, Shoppers Drug Mart, and affiliated grocers.
The first item is the SeaQuest brand Shrimp Ring with Mild Cocktail Sauce in the 454-gram size, which carries UPC 0 60383 18047 8 and covers multiple best-before dates.

The second item is the President’s Choice brand Black Tiger Shrimp with Mild Cocktail Sauce in the 568-gram package, marked with UPC 0 60383 18048 5 and best-before dates of October 06, 2026 and October 07, 2026.

What You Need to Do
Anyone with these products should verify the brand name, package size, UPC, and best-before dates against the official recall information. If you or someone in your home has a mustard allergy, do not eat the recalled items under any circumstances.
Instead, throw the product away or bring it back to the store where you bought it to get a full refund. Anyone who has eaten these products and is experiencing symptoms of an allergic reaction should seek medical attention immediately. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is actively monitoring the situation to ensure these packages are completely pulled from grocers nationwide.
