A magical holiday train is rolling back into Ontario this November, bringing a cheerful free concert to a number of stops across the GTA.
The CPKC Holiday Train will officially kick off its 2026 tour in Montreal before heading west to visit 182 communities across Canada and the United States. The Ontario leg of the tour begins in late November with stops in spots like Belleville, Brighton, Bowmanville, and Oshawa before making its grand arrival in Toronto.

Watch as this travelling light show, decorated with thousands of brilliant lights, chugs into the city. Spanning around 1000 feet in length, 14 rail cars will be festively transformed with illuminated holiday motifs and designs.
A specially designed train car will then open up and turn into a live performance stage, ready to host a free concert for all who gather at each stop. For Toronto’s show, audiences will be treated to live sets from American rock band American Authors and Canadian artist Tyler Shaw.
Besides bringing plenty of holiday spirit, the annual initiative also helps collect funds and essential donations for local food banks, having raised over $28.3 million and 5.6 million pounds of food since launching back in 1999.

Attendance is completely free for all ages, though visitors are encouraged to bring along monetary donations or non-perishable food items to support local community drives. Be sure to dress warm, as the half-hour performance takes place entirely outdoors!
The Holiday Train will pull into Toronto at 750 Runnymede Road on Sunday, November 29, with the festive show running from 8:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Nearby stops including Milton, Hamilton, Bowmanville, Oshawa, and Vaughan will also host the train throughout late November.
