According to the official UP Express construction advisory, GO buses will replace trains, running directly between Union Station Bus Terminal and Pearson Airport Terminal 1 throughout the two-day shutdown.
However, replacement buses will not stop at Bloor, Mount Dennis, or Weston stations, meaning passengers travelling from these locations will need alternative transportation.
Ahead of the shutdown, the last UP Express trains on Friday, October 30, will depart Union Station at 11 p.m. and Pearson Airport at 11:39 p.m.
Travellers should allow extra time to reach Pearson Airport, as replacement buses may take longer than the usual train journey, particularly with Halloween weekend traffic. Those catching an early Sunday flight should consider arranging transportation in advance.
UP Express isn’t the only transit service facing disruptions this weekend. According to the TTC’s service advisory, Line 2 between St George and Broadview will close starting at 10 p.m. on Friday, October 30, with shuttle buses replacing subway service. Regular service is expected to resume around 6 a.m. Saturday.
Meanwhile, GO Transit is suspending Barrie line trains between Downsview Park GO and Union Station. According to the GO Transit Kitchener line construction advisory, trains will operate between Mount Pleasant and Mount Dennis GO, with select buses connecting Stratford or Kitchener GO to Highway 407 Bus Terminal. There will also be no GO Transit service at Bloor GO station this weekend.

Stouffville line passengers will also face schedule changes, with most regularly scheduled weekend trains replaced by buses. Southbound trains departing Old Elm and Mount Joy GO stations will leave up to 27 minutes later than usual.
Travellers should check UP Express, TTC, and GO Transit service alerts before heading out and allow extra time for connections. Those flying Saturday evening or Sunday should arrange transportation in advance to avoid missing their flights.
