AlohaFest Toronto marks its 10th anniversary this year, celebrating a decade of sharing Polynesian culture through community, music, and dance. What began as the vision of a single hālau has grown into a festival featuring 20 acts and hundreds of participants.
Bringing together hālau from across Ontario, the festival is more than a stage show. It’s a vibrant cultural gathering where traditions are shared with authenticity, creating a welcoming space that celebrates the living heritage of Polynesian communities.
Beyond the main stage, the festival features Polynesian-inspired food vendors, including kalua pork and poke bowls, Spam musubi, Hawaiian barbecue, and shave ice. Local vendors offer handmade lei, ʻukuleles, jewellery, and other island-inspired goods, while Keiki Corner offers free hands-on crafts and activities for children throughout the day.
Island Spirit
Running from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., AlohaFest invites visitors to spend the day exploring the marketplace, enjoying live music, sampling delicious food, and soaking up the vibrant atmosphere from morning through sunset.
Free admission makes AlohaFest accessible to everyone. Located directly above North York Centre Station, Mel Lastman Square is easy to reach by transit, making it simple to spend the day immersed in the celebration.
