Toronto is full of festive holiday markets and pop-up bars to celebrate the season, but for those seeking an enchanting escape from the urban hustle, the Burlington Festival of Lights has you covered!

Just a short drive west, this beloved annual tradition is back for its 30th year to transform the city’s scenic Spencer Smith Park into a breathtaking winter wonderland, right on the waterfront.
From November 28 until January 7, 2026, you’ll find a dazzling showcase of over 60 spectacular holiday-themed light displays reflecting off the lake, along with festive events and countless photo opportunities throughout the season.
Organizers invite everyone to partake in the fun: “Bring family, friends, and even your pets to stroll, drive, and delight in Burlington’s most enchanting holiday tradition.”

This beloved, free event draws thousands of local residents and visitors from across the region, according to the city, with thousands more enjoying the displays from the warmth of their vehicles from Lakeshore Road. It remains a cornerstone of the community’s annual holiday calendar.
The Festival of Lights is just one highlight of Burlington’s holiday schedule. This month, they’ll also host a festive Holly Jolly Tea on December 20, Holiday Hoedown on December 20, and Jingle Beats Silent Disco on December 21.
