Here are the must-visit Christmas markets in the city for 2025:
1. The Distillery Winter Village

The Distillery Winter Village is Toronto’s ultimate, iconic Christmas market experience in the city. Formerly known as the Toronto Christmas Market, this event transforms the historic, cobblestoned Distillery District into a magical Victorian-era village. It features over 40 charming wooden shopping cabins, a massive Christmas tree, carollers, festive food vendors, and plenty of picture-perfect photo opportunities. Keep in mind, weekends especially can get busy.
When: November 13, 2025 – January 4, 2026 (closed Christmas Day)

Price: Free on weekdays; $15 tickets are generally required for entry on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday after 4 p.m., as well as all day from December 15 – 31.
2. Holiday Hills @ STACKT Market

Holiday Hills transforms STACKT, Toronto’s one-of-a-kind shipping-container marketplace, into a sparkling winter wonderland, featuring bold installations, immersive light displays, a towering Christmas tree, a 120-foot pine-scented light tunnel, and a cozy winter patio serving seasonal food and drinks. New this year are the Speakeasy Espresso Martini Bar and the Our Story Winter Wine Bar. Entry is free, and visitors are encouraged to explore the 100+ local makers, shops, and food vendors on-site.

3. St. Lawrence Winter Market

The St. Lawrence Market’s 2nd Annual Winter Market returns from November 20 to December 22, turning Market Street into a festive, free outdoor celebration every Thursday through Sunday. Visitors can browse handcrafted goods from local vendors, enjoy seasonal eats, and take part in a full lineup of holiday activities, including free Santa photos on weekends, live music, outdoor movies, and rotating attractions like carousel rides and outdoor skating. More than 75 makers and vintage sellers join the fun each weekend under the big white tent, while a new feature zone offers additional free programming.

4. Winterfest at Harbourfront

Winterfest has returned to Harbourfront Centre for its second year, transforming Toronto’s waterfront into a sparkling holiday destination filled with lights, music, food, and free entertainment. The season kicked off with the lighting of a 33-foot tree and the opening of the expanded Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities Rink, where visitors can skate for free through March 1, 2026. New attractions include the Harbourfront Express mini train and a large Winter Wooden Maze, alongside a glowing light tunnel, seasonal vendors, and Winter Feast Lane’s comfort food offerings. The festivities will conclude with a major New Year’s Eve celebration featuring live music, fireworks, and a nationally broadcast CBC countdown to 2026.

5. Evergreen Winter Market

The Evergreen Winter Market returns with four festive Sundays of holiday fun on November 30 and December 7, 14, and 21 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors can explore the Ontario Artisan and Vintage Markets with 60+ vendors, enjoy delicious food trucks, sip warm drinks in a cozy winter garden, and take part in seasonal workshops, children’s activities, skating, and live performances. A suggested $5 donation helps support community programming at Evergreen Brick Works.

6. Winter Glow

Winter Glow returns to downtown Toronto’s Sankofa Square this year from December 11 to 21, 2025, taking over the downtown plaza with a winter carnival filled with lights, music, rides, and festive flavours. The ten-day event kicks off with an opening night celebration featuring live performances, the launch of the 45-ft Ferris wheel and carousel, and the debut of the Holiday Market. Guests can enjoy seasonal drinks at the Polar Point Bar, snap photos with Santa, browse the new Epilepsy Toronto Holiday Market featuring local artisan vendors, and indulge in classic treats while enjoying midway games.

7. Holiday Market at the Ritz Carlton

This season, The Ritz-Carlton Toronto has introduced their first-ever Holiday Market at EPOCH Patio, a luxurious, European-inspired festive experience in the heart of the city. From Monday to Saturday, guests can stroll through beautifully lit wooden chalets filled with artisanal gifts, Ritz-Carlton retail items, handmade ornaments, and indulgent seasonal treats. Entry can be reserved through OpenTable, though seating within the venue is not included.
