Canada’s first-ever shop dedicated entirely to the art of butter is officially opening just west of Toronto this spring.
If you’ve spent any time at the Port Credit Farmers’ Market, you’ve likely already fallen for the creamy, small-batch creations of Butter Bar. Now, the local favourite is leveling up from pop-up status to a permanent home at 1006 Lagoon St., bringing a whole new meaning to the phrase “butter up.”

This isn’t your average grocery store stick of salted dairy. Butter Bar specializes in gourmet, freshly churned flavoured butters made from local Ontario cream with zero additives. The new boutique is being designed by Aeon Design & Architecture Studio to be a true butter-focused experience, which also happens to be the first of its kind in the country.
Visitors can expect a rotating lineup of seasonal bars, including crowd favourites like Truffle Garlic, Basil Lemon Garlic, and the sweet-and-spiced Cinnamon Sugar Nutmeg.

Beyond the bars themselves, the shop will feature ready-to-enjoy entertaining boards perfect for your next dinner party, daily sampling stations so you can find your perfect flavour match, curated gift boxes and butter-themed lifestyle goods like linens and gold spreaders, as well as a unique selection of gourmet pairings sourced from local Canadian partners.
Whether you’re looking to elevate a simple piece of sourdough or searching for a show-stopping addition to a charcuterie spread, this new Mississauga gem is set to become a must-visit destination for foodies.
While an exact opening date is still under wraps, you can expect the doors to swing open as the weather warms up this spring. In the meantime, you can get a head start on your cravings by browsing their current seasonal collection on the Butter Bar website.
