An Etobicoke institution that’s been serving up slices for 20 years is may soon be saying goodbye – and locals are already feeling the sting.
Today, Dino’s Wood Burning Pizza took to social media to announce that its original location at 820 The Queensway was put up for sale.
“Twenty years ago, we opened our doors with a dream, a passion for quality food, and a commitment to serving our community with heart,” the announcement shared. “For two decades, you welcomed us into your homes, your celebrations, and your lives.”

Dino cited the rising cost of living, economic instability, and the pressure of competing with massive chains as the primary reasons for the looming sale.
Known for its wood-burning oven and the perfect char of its crust, Dino’s became a local legend thanks to owner Dino Ari. It wasn’t just about the food; it was about the man behind the counter who knew his customers by name and treated the neighbourhood like family.
Besides the slices, the shop was famous for its massive spirit of giving. Over the years, Dino and his team became recognized for their humanitarian efforts, famously delivering hundreds of free slices to warming centres during record-breaking snowfalls and supporting local food banks and shelters.

Within the announcement, Dino is urging his loyal followers to keep the spirit of the shop alive by continuing to support local, small-scale establishments that make Toronto’s food scene so special.
For the meantime until the location is sold, the Queensway storefront will continue to operate as normal. In addition, Dino’s second location at 871 Kipling Ave. will remain open, meaning you can still get your fix of that signature wood-fired flavour.
