Tim Hortons and Starbucks are both about to get some stiff competition, as the iconic pink and orange glow of Dunkin’ (formerly Dunkin’ Donuts) is officially making its way back north of the border.
After a long hiatus from the Canadian market, the beloved American coffee chain has announced a massive comeback. Through a new partnership with Foodtastic, hundreds of Dunkin’ locations are slated to open across the country.

While Dunkin’ hasn’t been seen in Canada since its last remaining shops shuttered in 2018, this new expansion is set to be much larger in scale. Fans can expect the full classic experience, from their signature hot and iced coffees to those famous rows of colourful donuts and breakfast sandwiches.
The rollout is part of a master franchising agreement that gives Foodtastic the exclusive rights to grow the brand nationally. If that name sounds familiar, it’s because they’re the same team behind the recent Canadian expansion of Jimmy John’s, as well as local favourites like Second Cup and Milestones.

While an official opening day for the first shop hasn’t been revealed just yet, the company expects the first doors to swing open in late 2026 or early 2027.
Whether you’re a die-hard fan of their Boston Kreme or had to plan cross-border trips to Buffalo to grab a Munchkin, the wait for your Dunkin’ fix is almost over.
Keep an eye out for more specific location announcements as development progresses over the next few months!
