Toronto has plenty of sweet destinations to grab a cone at during the summer months, but one spot just ranked among the most iconic in the world.
Taste Atlas, an online travel guide for traditional food, just dropped a list of the Top 100 Most Iconic Ice Creams of the World,
Highlighting gelaterias and ice cream parlors that “have left an indelible mark on the global dessert scene”, Toronto’s very own Ed’s Real Scoop earned a spot on the exclusive list.
Commended for their Burnt Marshmallow flavour, the site writes it is “a delightful twist on a campfire classic that has captured the hearts of Toronto’s dessert lovers.”
Ed’s Real Scoop is also the only Toronto creamery to make the cut, though three other Canadian ice cream shops are also mentioned.
COWS in Cavendish gained a spot for their Wowie Cowie ice cream, La Casa Gelato in Vancouver for their durian gelato, and Le Bilbouquet in Montreal was praised for their mango sorbet.
Ed’s Real Scoop has a number of locations throughout Toronto, including The Beaches, Leslieville, Roncesvalles, and Mimico.
The business was founded by Ed Francis back in 2000, and today, each of their four locations make their own small batch menu in house.
Serving over 150 ice creams, gelatos, sorbets and yogurts, Ed’s Real Scoop is constantly rotating specialty flavours. There’s sure to be something for every palate, so head to your nearest location and try one of the most iconic scoops in the world!
