Since the tournament was announced, the anticipation for the FIFA World Cup 2026 has been building to a fever pitch – and Toronto is ready to start the party in spectacular fashion.
On the literal eve of the tournament, the city will host a first-of-its-kind, multi-city Countdown Concert series bridging three hosting nations. Spectators on the grounds will get to experience a 90-minute synchronized spectacle, which will take place simultaneously across Toronto, Mexico City, and Los Angeles.

The Toronto iteration of the concert will transform the Fort York National Historic Site and The Bentway, the official grounds of the FIFA Fan Festival Toronto, into a global stage. Curated in collaboration with the Grammys, the event will feature both globally recognized headliners and emerging talents, many of whom feature on the Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Album.
Canadian rock legend Bryan Adams will lead the hometown bill at Fort York, alongside Juno Award-winning indie band The Beaches. In addition, Toronto-born Nora Fatehi will bring the heat with Sanjoy and Vegedream. Keep an eye out for a special cross-genre collaboration when legendary Fugees co-founder Wyclef Jean teams up with acclaimed Ontario roots artist AHI.
What makes the experience truly unique is its real-time synchronization. While Toronto rocks out, the fast-paced broadcast will seamlessly cut to live performances from the other co-hosting nations, featuring Major Lazer and Davido in Los Angeles, and cumbia icons Los Ángeles Azules and Belinda in Mexico City.
