A bold new pop-up is taking over one of Toronto’s coolest hidden galleries this month to ring in Lunar New Year.
As we say goodbye to the Year of the Snake, the Hong Kong Tourism Board is bringing the Fire Horse Club to Cry Baby Gallery from February 17 – 22, turning the Dundas West hotspot into a luxury-infused celebration of art and culture. It’s a rare occasion, as the Fire Horse only gallops into the Chinese zodiac once every 60 years, and the event is designed to match that once-in-a-lifetime momentum.

Upon stepping inside the gallery, you’ll find yourself transported into a contemporary Lunar New Year salon. The space will be anchored by new works from acclaimed Toronto artist Peter Chan. Known for blending tradition with a modern edge, Chan is debuting these pieces in Toronto before they head off to the prestigious Art Basel Week in Hong Kong this March.
While you admire the art, you can sip on a specialized “Lucky 3-4-9” cocktail menu, featuring flavors and numerology inspired by the city’s world-class nightlife.

The Fire Horse is all about bold moves, and the prizes at this pop-up are no exception. Visitors have the chance to enter a massive public contest with a prize package that feels like a dream. One lucky winner will walk away with a coveted Hermès handbag, celebrating the maison’s deep-rooted equestrian heritage, as well as a trip for two to Hong Kong, including a chance to dive into the city’s legendary dining and shopping scenes.
You can enter the contest via a dedicated sign-up link at the event, with the winner being announced on March 3 to close out the festive season.

You’ll find the Fire Horse Club located at 1468 Dundas St West, open to the public from February 18 – 20. It is free to attend, and whether you’re there for the world-class art or the chance to jet off to Asia, it’s an immersive experience you won’t want to miss.
