We’re about to say goodbye to the Year of the Snake and hello to the Year of the Horse – and the city is celebrating in a big way!
An elaborate two-day Lunar New Year festival is coming to Toronto this long Family Day weekend, and will feature a spectacular fireworks show, live performances, delicious foods, and so much more.

Spanning two days, the Toronto Spring Festival will take place at Nathan Phillips Square on February 14 and 15, running from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Designed to foster inclusivity and cultural exchange, the event promises to be one of the most vibrant ways to celebrate the season.
Anticipating a whopping 50,000+ attendees, the festival will have 3 stages to host over 100 cultural performances, as well as over 30 interactive workshops to attend. Spanning across the square, the event features a curated Echo Market where you can browse local artists and brands, or grab a bite from various food stalls serving up holiday treats. The iconic skating rink will also be in full swing, providing the perfect backdrop for a weekend of winter fun.

The main event features a series of dazzling performances that blend ancient tradition with a modern twist. This year, the schedule is packed with everything from Peking Opera and acrobatics to a Couture on Ice fashion show and sets from Chinese DJs. You can even expect to see some futuristic robot dancers and high-tech VR experiences tucked inside the festival’s heated pavilions.
The festival is also completely free to attend, though those looking to escape the cold can purchase tickets for access to the VIP heated tents. While the atmosphere is electric all weekend long, the highlight of the celebration is a sparkling fireworks display that will light up the downtown sky on February 15, with the countdown beginning at 8:30 p.m.
