With less than a month left til January, it’s time to start getting your New Year’s Eve plans sorted!
If you’re searching for the ultimate way to ring in 2026 without spending a dime, Toronto will once again be hosting an incredible free New Year’s Eve celebration on the waterfront, complete with live music and performances, delicious food, and of course, a spectacular fireworks display at midnight.

Hosted by the City of Toronto, the fireworks show will take place at Harbourfront Centre and last 10 minutes long once the clock strikes 12:00 a.m. on January 1. Synchronized to music, the stunning light show will dazzle above the lake, and be visible from anywhere with a view of Toronto’s inner harbour.
The fun kicks off hours before midnight at 8 p.m., giving you plenty of time to celebrate before the grand finale. Also hosting the magical Winterfest at Harbourfront all December long, the festivities on December 31st include free admission to DJ Skate Night, with tunes by DJ Smartiez as you glide into the new year.

Grab a bite from one of the local vendors at the Street Eats Market, or take a nostalgic final journey on the beloved Harbourfront Express train. The website also states to keep an eye out for a few surprise moments planned throughout the night!
For those who can’t make the celebration, you can tune into CBC who will be broadcasting it live as part of their national New Year’s Eve coverage. Keep in mind, this is the city’s official New Year’s Eve fireworks show, and there will be no display at City Hall or Nathan Phillips Square.
Can’t wait to welcome 2026 with you, Toronto!
