A number of standout spots are going all out this year, with chilling cocktails, gruesome decor, and spine-tingling bites.
Here are six spooky Halloween-themed bars in Toronto to check out this season:
1. Black Lagoon at Bar Mordecai
The award-winning Black Lagoon pop-up returns to take over Toronto’s Bar Mordecai this October, running from October 16 – 31. Guests can expect eerie decor and a chilling offering of cocktails like Nosferatu’s Rise, Hex Appeal, and Memento Mori. The pop-up isn’t taking reservations only walk-ins, and encourages you to come dressed in costume!

2. The Burton Experience at Café Nicole
For fans of Tim Burton’s iconic films, The Burton Experience pop-up at Café Nicole Bistro + Bar at the Novotel Centre Toronto is already open through October 31. The decor and cocktails are inspired by Burton’s darkly whimsical aesthetic, offering themed drinks and snacks like Vampire Bangle Onion Rings, Spoooooo-tine (poutine), or their Witches’ Brew cocktail.

3. Hellbar
The typically space-themed Offworld Bar on Queen West has transformed into a diabolical resto-lounge for the month of October. Hellbar invites “saints and sinners alike to enjoy the coziness of eternal flame”, complete with specialty food and drinks like the Darkest Doom Spaghetti, Beelzeburger, and even Satan’s Suicide Meatball Roulette, where two of the six meatballs are cursed with ghost pepper heat. The bar will also have a number of events throughout the month, like Tarot Tuesdays, Halloween market, and a “blood rave party” on October 31.

4. The Haunted 1 Hotel
Harriet’s Rooftop at Toronto’s 1 Hotel will soon be taken over by a haunted atmosphere, with the spirits of Halloween coming to life. Come in costume and get ready for a chilling night of “bewitching cocktails and spellbinding beats from beyond”. You’ll also be treated to stunning views of the city skyline! Harriet’s invites you to the Haunted 1 Hotel on October 26, 31, and November 1 starting at 11 p.m. nightly.

5. Storm Crow Manor
Self-proclaimed as “Toronto’s geekiest bar”, Storm Crow Manor on Church St is a multi-level mansion with a variety of theme rooms, secret doors, catacombs, bubbling glowing cocktails – and that’s during non-Halloween season! You can count on another epic Halloween bash this year happening on October 25, or pop by for one of their other events this month such as Tarot Thursdays, pumpkin carving, or a Halloween market.

6. Noche De Los Muertos at Casa Madera
Looking for a more relaxed Halloween-themed outing? Look no further than Casa Madera’s Noche De Los Muertos event, running from October 30 – November 2. In celebration of the rich traditions of Día de los Muertos and the vibrant spirit of Halloween, guests can enjoy the decorated environment full of candlelight and marigolds while savouring exclusive tequila cocktails and culinary offerings.
