A beloved Toronto winter pastime is ending the season with a cozy pajama party, and it’s the perfect excuse to roll out of bed and straight onto the ice.
As the city prepares to “spring forward” and lose an hour of shut-eye this weekend, The Bentway is stepping in to give it back.

To mark the final day of the skating season, the epic skating trail beneath the Gardiner Expressway is inviting Torontonians to embrace the time change with a morning of slow, caffeinated bliss. On March 8, visitors are encouraged to show up in their Sunday best, be it full-length pyjamas, slippers-over-socks, or puffy parkas.
To help you reset your internal clock, the event will feature complimentary coffee to keep the energy high as you take your final laps under the expressway. The Bentway is also extending the fun by opening the trail an hour earlier than usual, starting at 11 a.m.

The Daylight Saving Skate serves as the grand finale for the ice trail, which has become one of Toronto’s most unique urban traditions.
The celebration kicks off at 11 a.m. at 250 Fort York Blvd. You can find more details about the season’s closing festivities on The Bentway’s official website.
