Honoring the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women around the world, IWD in Toronto will be highlighted with a range of events and activities, not just on March 8 but throughout the entire month.
Nathan Phillips Square and Assembly Hall lobby will be illuminated in purple to mark the occasion, and there will be numerous women-run markets, workshops, and exhibitions to check out.

1. Get inspired at EmpowerHER
Come together and celebrate some of the most influential women who have shaped history at EmpowerHER, an in-person event featuring an exclusive lineup of female speakers who will amplify women’s voices, share their stories, recognize their contributions, and honour their impact across various sectors. 2. Shop women-owned businesses at HER Market
Support local women-owned businesses while picking up something cute for yourself, a friend, or family member at HER Market this weekend. The pop-up event takes place at Scarborough Town Centre from March 8 – 10, and the first 30 guests on the 8th will receive a free swag bag of goodies.

3. Embrace your feminine energy at Alter
Head to the city’s gorgeous new sauna and ice bath studio Alter for a special edition class designed for people who identify as women, femme-presenting, and non-binary. 6. Stretch it out for a good cause at 10XTO
On Sunday, March 10, Hotel X’s 10XTO will host a two-hour yoga fundraiser in celebration of IWD with their Flowing For Our Sisters event. Aimed to promote women’s empowerment, strength, and inspiration, all proceeds raised will be donated to Ernestine’s Women’s Shelter and Library In A Week. The class will include a vinyasa sequence, serene stretching, savasana accompanied by a singing bowl sound bath, and opportunity to journal.
