Toronto will eventually have yet another hot destination for upscale Japanese cuisine, with the future opening of Katsuya in one of the city’s 5-star hotels.
Master Sushi Chef Katsuya Uechi’s restaurant is best known for its sushi rolls, sashimi platters, shareable plates, and elevated cocktails, with locations in Los Angeles, Miami, New York, The Bahamas, and Dubai.
From their signature spicy tuna crispy rice to their robata or Wagyu Ishiyaki, there’s something to satisfy every Japanese cuisine craving.
Unfortunately, you will have to wait a few more years, as Katsuya won’t open until the new $800 million Freed Hotel and Residences open at 240 Adelaide Street West several years from now.
Featuring 100 luxury hotel rooms, 400 condominiums, a world class Skybar and restaurant on the 63rd floor, and boutique spa, the project will add a new stunning building to Toronto’s skyline.
Katsuya itself will span 10,000 sq ft on the building’s 2nd floor.
While the hotel itself has no set opening date, the restaurant intends to open in Fall 2028.
