Fall has officially arrived, and the trees throughout the GTA are beginning to burst into a kaleidoscope of colours. The season is short but sweet, and if you’re looking to make the most of it with a scenic daytrip, look no further.
Located just a 45-minute drive from the city, Kelso Conservation Area has once again transformed into a leaf-peeper’s dream. While there’s plenty to do and see at Kelso, one of the most unique autumn experiences is their Fall Chairlift Rides – no skis required.
Running from October 3 to November 1 on weekends and holidays (weather-permitting), it’s the ultimate way to catch sweeping panoramic views of the Niagara Escarpment as the canopy explodes into seasonal hues.

Visitors can take the chairlift to the summit to explore the park’s fall trails, follow upcoming curated hiking loops from their “Fall Into Nature” map, or just kick back for a complete aerial tour of the autumn landscape.
You’ll get to soak in breathtaking fall foliage, snap Insta-worthy photos, and enjoy autumn-inspired treats and hot drinks available at the lodge.
Each ticket is valid for two trips in any combination of up or down. Standard park admission ranges from $10.50 to $14.50 depending on the date, while chairlift ride passes are $20. The first chair goes up at 10:30 a.m. and the final ride up leaves at 4:30 p.m. Be sure to book your park reservation online in advance!
Note that riders must be at least 42 inches tall and able to sit on their own, and kids 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Pets and bikes are not allowed on the lifts.
You can find out more details and book your tickets here on their website.
