Fitness enthusiasts in Toronto’s West End, get excited, because Etobicoke is finally getting a new Lagree Studio this week!
Lagree Collective is set to open its doors on April 2, bringing its popular high-intensity, low-impact fitness regimen to the neighbourhood.
Founded by Jessica Sharpe, an avid Lagree practitioner with over 650 classes under her belt, Lagree Collective aims to provide a convenient and immersive fitness environment, designed to strengthen both the body and the mind.
Until now, you could only find Lagree workouts downtown, so Sharpe saw an opportunity to bring this innovative method closer to her home in the West End.
In a press release, she states “There was nothing like this in the area, and I know there are many people commuting long distances for the workout. I wanted to make it easier for people to access the Lagree Method and introduce it to those who may not even know about it yet.”
Unlike traditional gyms, Lagree Collective is designed to be more than just a place to exercise—it’s an experience. The studio’s atmosphere will feature moody lighting, energetic music, and an inspiring environment that encourages movement and mindfulness.
Central to the Lagree Method is the Megaformer, a specialized machine that engages muscles through slow, controlled movements, creating continuous tension for a full-body workout. This method, developed by Sebastien Lagree in 1999, is known for improving endurance, flexibility, and balance while minimizing the risk of injury.
By focusing on time under tension, it maximizes muscle activation and promotes lean muscle development without the impact of traditional weightlifting or cardio exercises.
Lagree Collective will offer multiple classes throughout the week, with an expanded schedule planned as demand grows. Each 50-minute session will focus on precise movements and proper form, ensuring participants get the most out of every class.
Classes will all be led by experienced instructors who have been rigorously trained to prioritize form and the safety of participants.
Sharpe emphasizes the importance of expert instruction, stating, “Our instructors have great energy, experience, and the ability to motivate and inspire others. It’s not just about teaching a class; it’s about creating an environment that helps our clients feel their best, both physically and mentally.”
Lagree Collective opens on April 2, 2025 at 102 – 170 Evans Ave in Etobicoke.
