It’s a good day to be a basketball fan–the National Basketball Association recently announced a premium, sports-inspired dining experience coming to downtown Toronto, dubbed NBA Courtside Restaurant, and it opens today, March 30!
The restaurant, which is the first of its kind, celebrates all things NBA while making guests feel like they’re right in the center of the game day excitement.
The 10,000-square-foot space is home to a modern food and beverage program, exclusive shopping, an outdoor patio, and a private dining room.
Showcasing the National Basketball Association, the new space is decked out with custom basketball-inspired art and decor, taking diners on an NBA player’s journey from dreamer to champion.
The artwork, created by artists including KWEST, Victor Solomon, and others, includes iconic moments from NBA history, such as a series of NBA Top Shot Moments featuring some of the top plays from the NBA season, acting sort of like a time capsule.
Family-owned and operated Toronto-based Urban Dining Group will run the kitchen.
As for the food, it’s definitely better than what you’d eat while actually sitting courtside at a game. Toronto-based chef Erica Karbelnik, who won Top Chef Canada Season 9 and Chopped Canada Season, helms the kitchen, serving up a mouthwatering, globally-inspired menu.
And, of course, the space is filled with several big screen TVs to ensure you don’t miss a minute of the game–because even a delicious meal can’t get between basketball fans and game time!
“It’s an honour to be a part of something in our city that is so special. Toronto loves the game. It’s part of our culture, and to showcase that in such a creative way is truly amazing,” said NBA Courtside Restaurant Culinary Ambassador, Chef Erica Karbelnik. “From the artwork and wine to the food, this is a Toronto gem that will continue our love and passion for basketball. I am lucky to be a part of the NBA Courtside Restaurant and am excited to see what the future holds with the NBA.”
After dining head to the exclusive in-restaurant retail space to find a curated collection of both official NBA and exclusive NBA Courtside Restaurant apparel and merch, as well as a selection of prints and products featuring custom illustrations by Dupuis.
“There’s no better location for the first NBA Courtside Restaurant than Canada, where basketball has a rich history and tradition,” said NBA Canada Senior Vice President, Leah MacNab. “We can’t wait to welcome fans and guests from around the world to this incredible venue, where they can celebrate their shared love of the game in a unique way through a delicious meal and welcoming atmosphere.”
NBA Courtside Restaurant opens today, March 30, in the heart of downtown Toronto at 15 Queens Quay East.
