With the May long weekend coming up, we’re more than ready to welcome back the unofficial start to summer; and some cities are celebrating in a dazzling way.
This includes Canada’s most famous natural wonder, which will be lighting up the night sky this Victoria Day weekend. Niagara Falls Tourism has officially announced the return of its iconic summer fireworks series, which has been one of the country’s longest-running traditions.

Starting May 15, 2026, both the Horseshoe and American Falls will be illuminated by a grand pyrotechnic display every single night. The nightly fireworks shows are scheduled to run through October 12, 2026, so you don’t have to wait for a special occasion to catch the show.
Each performance will last for approximately five minutes, starting at 10 p.m. sharp. The experience is completely free to the public, with prime viewing spots located all along the Niagara Parkway and within Queen Victoria Park.
If you want to level up your vantage point, you can see the show from high above at the Skylon Tower, or from down below in the mist on a late-night boat tour cruise.
While the standard nightly shows are five minutes long, holidays will feature extended nine-minute displays. These longer events are currently scheduled for Canada Day on July 1 and the U.S. Independence Day on July 4.
