It’s nearly that time again. Another year of Oktoberfest in Toronto, this time happening at a new venue.
The festival will be taking place October 6th and 7th at Garrison Common at Fort York. During Oktoberfest, Garrison Common will be completely transformed, with a huge Festhalle tent and outdoor Bavarian Village. Here, you can expect traditional music and food like pretzels, sausages, and, of course, steins and steins of German beer. Traditional garb is encouraged and you can even purchase some at the event so long as supplies last. Entertainment will be happening throughout the festival, from DJs to dancers, traditional singers and performances that’ll have your shouting ‘Prost!’ as you take another swig from your stein.
And of course you can’t forget the competitions from the Best Dressed to Strongman to the So You Think You Can Tanz competition. The full schedule is available online. Ticket prices vary depending on which day and hour you attend but Friday evening tickets start at $40 for general admission. Don’t wait to get yours, as tickets will probably sell out weeks before the main event.
