2025 is just around the corner, and I don’t know about you, but it feels like 2024 just flew by!
If you’re already looking ahead to book time off in the new year, Ontario has a number of statutory holidays to keep in mind and make the most of your vacation plans.
While not every business or service must observe Ontario’s statutory holidays, the majority of workers in both the pubic and private sectors are entitled for these days off with regular pay.

Ontario Stat Holidays for 2025
- New Year’s Day – Wednesday, January 1
- Family Day – Monday, February 17
- Good Friday – Friday, April 18
- Victoria Day – Monday, May 19
- Canada Day – Tuesday, July 1
- Labour Day – Monday, September 1
- Thanksgiving Day – Monday, October 13
- Christmas Day – Thursday, December 25
- Boxing Day – Friday, December 26
A number of other holidays may be observed in the province by select businesses, services, and restaurants, but are not an official statutory holiday. These include Easter Monday on April 21, Civic Holiday on August 4, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30, and Remembrance Day on November 11.
