The 6ix is set to get even happier as global music icon Pharrell Williams will take center stage at the Rogers Centre this evening for a special pre-game performance ahead of Game One of the 2025 World Series.
The 13-time Grammy winner will help kick off the Fall Classic showdown between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Los Angeles Dodgers, marking a historic return of World Series baseball to Toronto for the first time in 32 years.
Williams is not coming alone. He will be joined by the acclaimed gospel choir Voices of Fire, a group led by his uncle, Bishop Ezekiel Williams. The performance is set to feature two songs, “Are You Ready?” and “The One,” from their recent collaborative album, Ophanim. According to Major League Baseball, the show will be themed around “unity and togetherness,” setting a powerful tone for the championship series.
Following their performance with Pharrell, Voices of Fire will remain on the field to perform both “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “O Canada.” In a special nod to the host city, the choir will be accompanied by a local Toronto orchestra and other Canadian performers for a unique rendition of the Canadian national anthem.
The excitement in Toronto is palpable as the Blue Jays host their first World Series game since their 1993 victory. The pre-game festivities will also honor that legacy, with Cito Gaston, the manager of the back-to-back 1992 and 1993 championship teams, slated to throw the ceremonial first pitch.
The star-studded weekend doesn’t end with Game One. The Jonas Brothers are scheduled to perform ahead of Game Two on Saturday, continuing the high-energy entertainment for the Toronto crowd.
