After months of anticipation, American burger chain Shake Shack is finally opening its first flagship Canadian location in Toronto this week, and here’s what to know!
Coming to the northeast corner of Yonge-Dundas Square, Shake Shack officially opens its doors at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, and will remain open until 11 p.m.
Taking over 5,500 square feet, the Toronto restaurant will be the first of 35 locations expected by 2035.
Shake Shack Toronto be offering uniquely-Canadian items to their menu, including the Maple Salted Pretzel Shake which combines classic vanilla frozen custard with Canadian maple syrup,” offering a tasty nod to Canada’s maple syrup tradition,” the press release read.
They have also teamed up with a number of local partners to create some unique custard and their signature concretes, such as the “I Heart Butter Tart” concrete which uses Brodflour butter tarts, flaky salt, and vanilla custard, or the “Shack Attack” concrete combining chocolate from Chocosol, brownies, fudge sauce, and chocolate frozen custard.
Of course, you can also expect their usual staple burgers, crinkle-cut fries, hand-spun milkshakes, regional beer and wine.
