It’s no secret that Toronto has no shortage of incredible food options, and one of Ontario’s most famous exports agrees!
This past Saturday, pop star Shawn Mendes was spotted at DaNico, one of Toronto’s premier destinations for contemporary Italian cuisine, to celebrate his father’s birthday. The restaurant was also just recognized in the 2026 edition of Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants List, snagging 38th position.
While chatting with Executive Chef Daniele Corona, Mendes revealed that he had been curious about the acclaimed restaurant for quite some time, and decided that his father’s milestone celebration was the perfect occasion to finally see if it lived up to the hype.
According to the restaurant, the group ordered off DaNico’s Prix Fixe A La Carte menu. The table was reportedly filled with an array of Italian-inspired masterpieces, including the Il Manzo, Branzino, and Vitello.
The party also sampled some of the kitchen’s signature pasta and vegetable dishes, such as the Fettucce Alla Marinara, Spaghettoni Ai Funghi Locali e Tartufo Nero, and the Bistecca di Cavolfiore.
