A sea of green is set to take over the downtown core as one of Toronto’s most lively traditions returns to the streets this March.
The St. Patrick’s Day Parade is officially back for 2026, marking its 38th year as a massive celebration of Irish culture and spirit. For many Torontonians, this lively procession is the ultimate sign that spring (and the festivities that come with it) has finally arrived.

This year’s celebration kicks off on Sunday, March 15, and promises a spectacle of music, dance, and elaborate floats. Led by Grand Marshal Todd McCarthy, the parade will feature a lineup of top-tier marching bands, cultural performers, and local community groups, showcasing the city’s incredible diversity alongside its Irish roots.
The main event begins at 12:00 p.m. at the corner of St. George and Bloor Street West. From there, the parade will travel east along Bloor before turning south onto Yonge Street, eventually making its way to a grand finale at Sankofa Square (formerly Yonge-Dundas Square). Whether you’re there for the rhythmic bagpipes or the intricate footwork of Irish dancers, the 90-minute show offers something for everyone.

While the parade is completely free to attend, it also serves as an important opportunity to give back. Throughout the route, members of the Toronto Professional Firefighters Association will be on hand to collect cash and non-perishable food donations for the Daily Bread Food Bank. It’s a wonderful way to share the luck of the Irish with those in need across the city.
Since the event falls right during March Break, it’s the perfect outing for families looking to soak up the atmosphere. Be sure to arrive early to snag a prime viewing spot along the Yonge Street stretch, and don’t forget to wear your best green attire.
You can find more details and the full parade route on the official St. Patrick’s Parade Society of Toronto website.
