A local Tim Hortons in Toronto just got a pink and purple makeover in celebration of women in sports.
The Canadian coffeehouse and restaurant chain has partnered with Mattel and the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) to launch an iconic new Barbie doll, inspired by hockey legends Sarah Nurse and Marie-Philip Poulin.
Outfitted in authentic PWHL gear, including a Tim Hortons pink and purple hockey jersey, helmet, skates, and a hockey stick, the dolls will soon be released in participating restaurants across Canada as of August 11. If you can’t wait, they are also already available for purchase online at TimShop.ca, as well as official PWHL shops in both Canada and the United States, retailing for $34.99 CAD.
Not only do the collectibles represent women in sports, they also let fans directly support young athletes. With every doll purchased at a Tim Hortons restaurant or online, $5 CAD will be donated to the Grindstone Award Foundation, a Canadian charity that helps girls overcome financial barriers to play hockey.
In addition, a Toronto Tim Hortons restaurant at 3157 Dundas St. West has been transformed into a Barbie hockey dream house, redecorated in Barbie pink and PWHL purple. Guests can check it out until August 13, so you’ll want to visit soon before it’s gone!
Participating locations will also offer limited-edition treats and merchandise, including a special PWHL donut topped with pink sprinkles, a Barbie Pineapple Dragon Fruit Quencher, and Barbie pink coffee cups. A Barbie-themed Tims hoodie is also available for purchase online.
