Buckle up, Toronto, because winter is back!
The past few days in the city have been a nice moment of reprieve after the most recent back-to-back snow storms, but unfortunately, more snow is on the way.
On Monday, Toronto’s Pearson Airport recorded temperatures exceeding 5 C for the first time this year, marking the first significant snowmelt of the season. Tuesday also maintained the above-average temperatures hovering around 6 C, but the spring temperatures will be short lived.
By Wednesday, winter conditions will make a comeback.
According to the Weather Network, a weak low-pressure system will move into southwestern Ontario in the afternoon, reaching the GTA overnight. The system is expected to bring a mix of rain and snow, with freezing rain or drizzle possible overnight.
Temperatures will also dip to around 0 C, bringing with it the possibility of between two to four centimetres of accumulation by Thursday morning.
That’s not all, as forecasters are also watching for a pair of clipper systems expected to affect the region on Friday and Saturday. Temperatures are expected to drop back below normal and a return to more traditional winter conditions, feeling as cold as -25 C on Saturday.
We’re not out of the woods yet, so keep those shovels and parkas handy!
