It’s feeling like spring in Toronto today, so much so that the city just set a new bar for unseasonably warm temperatures.
Cracking an 86-year-old weather record, Environment Canada measured the temperature at 11.4 C today at Toronto Pearson International Airport, breaking the prior record set in 1938 of 10.6 C.
According to the forecast, the city will continue warming up throughout the day with a mix of sun and clouds, reaching a high of 13 C later this afternoon before things cool down this weekend.
Unfortunately, this spring teaser won’t last for long, as temperatures will drop to 3 C on Sunday with a chance of isolated flurries early next week.
Based on the Extended Spring Weather Forecast by The Farmers’ Almanac, Toronto is in for a “Polar Coaster” of a spring, punctuated by stormy conditions and fluctuating temperatures.
For now, get out and enjoy the mild weather while you can!
