The Toronto International Festival of Authors returns from October 28 to November 1 with a lineup that includes Dave Eggers, Marie NDiaye, Ann-Marie MacDonald, Andrew Sean Greer, Patrick deWitt, David Szalay, Vivek Shraya, Canisia Lubrin, and Téa Mutonji.
Bringing together acclaimed writers from across the literary world, the festival features more than 100 events, including author conversations, live readings, masterclasses, and workshops exploring the craft of writing and literary adaptation.
The festival is centred at Victoria University in the University of Toronto, where visitors can browse books, attend events, and meet authors throughout the week. The University of Toronto Bookstore will be open on-site, making it easy to pick up a book and have it signed after a reading or conversation.
Passes & Perks
Alongside its main programming, the festival also features its popular Tea and Cake gatherings in Alumni Hall, offering readers a relaxed setting to connect with fellow book lovers between events.
Festival passes are available for the full five-day event, a weekend, or a single day, making it easy to tailor your visit to the schedule that interests you most. Full Festival and 5-Day Passes also include select events at the Winter Garden Theatre. Tickets for those special presentations can also be purchased separately through Ticketmaster.
As Canada’s largest and longest-running literary festival, TIFA has been connecting readers and writers for more than four decades. Proceeds support the organization’s charitable mission and year-round literary programming. With more than 100 events packed into five days, a little planning goes a long way toward making the most of the experience.
