Bundle up, Toronto, it’s about to get cold!
We’ve been blessed in the city with a relatively mild start to the winter season thanks to a strong El Niño, but that’s all about to change very soon.
As of this Thursday, temperatures are expected to drop to -9 degrees C, but by mid-January, an even icier plunge is expected with the arrival of a Polar Vortex pushing Arctic air into the province.
While Western and Central Canada will be hit the hardest, the East will still be affected.
According to The Weather Network, the second and third weeks of January may also bring anywhere from 6 to 16 cm of snow to Toronto, though large accumulations are not expected.
Luckily, by the end of the month temperatures are expected to return to above-seasonal.
If you’re searching for something to do during this bout of frigid weather, how about trying one of the city’s best new restaurants? We’ve also compiled a list of many incredible things to do and see this month, from immersive indoor art exhibits to visiting Toronto’s newest wellness hub.
