Fall is just around the corner, and for any locals looking to enjoy a final dip in one of Toronto’s public outdoor pools, you’ll want to keep an eye on the city’s calendar.
While the end of August signals the winding down of warm-weather amenities, the City of Toronto operates a tiered schedule for closing its outdoor aquatic facilities.
Most Outdoor Pools Close on September 6
For the majority of Toronto’s 50+ outdoor public pools and wading pools, the summer season officially comes to an end on Sunday, September 6, with pools closing at 4 p.m.
However, 15 select pools will remain open on Labour Day Monday, September 7. This includes the following:

- Fairbank Memorial Park
- Gord and Irene Risk Community Recreation Centre
- Goulding Community Recreation Centre
- Grandravine Community Recreation Centre
- Heron Park Community Recreation Centre
- Kiwanis Outdoor Pool at Stan Wadlow Park
- Maryvale Park
- McGregor Park Community Centre
- O’Connor Community Centre
- Parkway Forest Park
- Pine Point Park Outdoor Pool
- Riverdale Park East
- Sunnyside Gus Ryder Outdoor Pool
- West Mall Outdoor Pool at Dennis Flynn Park
Splash Pads Stay Open Longer
If you miss the outdoor pool season, Toronto’s 140+ splash pads offer a little more time to enjoy the warm weather.
Splash pads operate on a separate seasonal schedule and typically remain open daily from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. until September 13, weather permitting.
