Toronto keeps racking up the accolades as a world class city, whether it’s for being ranked as one of the world’s best cities for millennials or one of the most affordable travel destinations for 2024.
Now, we have yet another badge of honour to add to our name, having just been ranked the world’s third best city for remote work.
HR company Remote has released their annual report which looks at the best cities worldwide for remote work.
To make their determinations, they look at a range of factors including cost of living, openness, safety, quality of life, internet infrastructure, location appeal, inflation, and incentives for remote workers.
The report found Madrid, Spain to be the world’s top remote work destination for 2024, and Madeira, Portugal ranking second.
Toronto was third on the list, recognized for its consistently-high ranking on lists for safety, quality of life, things to do, and economic growth.
The article also mentions that Toronto is incredibly multicultural, with over half its residents being born outside Canada. In turn, this helps make it to be one of the most welcoming cities for international transplants.
