Summer food festivals and Toronto are a match made in heaven, and one of the season’s most anticipated events returns this coming weekend!
Back for its ninth year, Taco Fest is bigger and better than ever, taking place over three days with offerings from some of the best chefs in the city.
Coming to Fort York from August 8 – 10, the festival will feature over 250 varieties of tacos to try, along with a variety of tequilas, full-service bar, live music from authentic Mariachi bands, DJs, and non-stop salsa dancing in a massive celebration.
Creations from more than 50 of Toronto’s top chefs and food vendors will showcase everything from traditional Mexican street food to bold fusion flavours. Aside from tacos, don’t miss the guacamole-making classes, Mexican street corn, Canada’s largest hot sauce bar, and so much more!
After trying as many tacos as you can handle, you’ll also be able to vote on Toronto’s “Best Taco”, in which the winner will receive a massive golden taco-shaped trophy and bragging rights. Last year’s winner, Rosa’s Toronto, will be back to defend their title for their award-winning Camaron y Coco taco, a coconut-crusted shrimp topped with mango salsa and sweet chili on a corn tortilla.
Other must-try vendors include Lit Up Jerk, Fiesta Empanada, Birria Catrina, Born2eat, Rick’s Good Eats. Want to spice it up and try something different?
Opt for The Bollywood Taco’s Butter Chicken Birria Taco, 6 Spice Rack’s Brisky Mac, a brisket-mac-n-cheese hard shell taco, or Dope as Duck’s Wanna Smash? Taco, a smash burger-taco hybrid with all the fixings.
Taco Fest sold out last year, so don’t miss your chance and get your tickets now on their website! Prices start at $19.50 for general admission. Youth can attend from hours 11 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., but the event becomes 19+ thereafter.
We’ll see you there, Toronto!
