If you’ve been waiting for a sign to finally book that UK getaway, this is it! Toronto Pearson is officially strengthening its link to the vibrant heart of Northern England.
Air Canada has announced that its service from Toronto to Manchester is shifting from a seasonal summer route to a year-round essential.
Starting this April, the airline will operate four weekly flights, running every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, ensuring that Torontonians can trade the CN Tower for the cobblestones of the Northern Quarter regardless of the season.
The decision comes as demand for the “Capital of the North” reaches an all-time high. Whether you’re chasing the city’s legendary music scene or heading over for a high-stakes football match, the trek to Manchester has never been more convenient.
For Football Fans, no trip is complete without a pilgrimage to Old Trafford or the Etihad Stadium. Even if you don’t score a ticket to a match, the stadium tours and the National Football Museum are must-sees. Culture Seekers, don’t miss a visit to the stunning neo-Gothic John Rylands Library or catch an immersive show at the Manchester Cathedral. For the Foodies, wander through Mackie Mayor, a bustling food hall set in a restored Victorian market building, for some of the best scran in the city.
The city is also the perfect base for day trips to some of the UK’s most scenic spots. In under two hours, you can be hiking the rolling hills of the Peak District, exploring the medieval walls of Chester, or breathing in the fresh air of the Lake District.
With return fares starting to pop up at competitive rates, your next British adventure is just a seven-hour flight away.
