Two of Toronto’s premier dining destinations have just been named among the best in the world, proving that our city’s steak scene is truly a cut above the rest.
The annual list of the World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants for 2026 has officially been released, and Toronto has secured two prestigious spots on the global stage. While the ranking is famously competitive evaluating over 1,200 establishments across 29 strict criteria, two local icons managed to impress the international panel of “steak ambassadors.”
Jacobs & Co. Steakhouse
Leading the pack for the city is Jacobs & Co. Steakhouse, which landed at No. 51. This year’s ranking marks a significant jump for the Financial District institution, which climbed from the 76th spot in 2025.

Now located in a stunning 14,000-square-foot flagship at CIBC Square, Jacobs & Co. continues to be celebrated for its world-class dry-aging program and rare sourcing that spans from local Ontario ranches to the finest Japanese Wagyu.
Linny’s
Joining the global elite for the first time is Linny’s, the sleek, old-school steakhouse on Ossington. Helmed by renowned chef David Schwartz, the newcomer made its debut at No. 63. The ranking committee highlighted the restaurant’s perfect blend of craftsmanship and warmth, noting its impressive selection of Canadian beef and its signature over-fired grill.

With a warm, comfortable atmosphere and attentive service, the ranking notes that Linny’s “feels like a neighbourhood staple in the making”, offering a refreshing take on the classic steakhouse built on integrity, simplicity, and a clear sense of purpose.
While Toronto is the only Canadian city to boast two spots on the list, the highest-ranking restaurant in the country remains Vancouver’s Elisa, which took the 32nd spot. For those willing to make a short road trip, Fat Rabbit in nearby St. Catharines also earned a nod at No. 91.
Whether you’re looking for a celebratory night out or just want to taste what the world’s experts are raving about, these local champions are ready to serve up an unforgettable experience.
