While we still have plenty of summer weather in Toronto left to look forwards to, fall is creeping up and just around the corner.
Thanks to a $2 million investment from the City of Toronto’s 2025 budget, several pools were allowed to open earlier in June and extend their season into September, giving people more options to cool off as hotter weather lingers later in the year.
The city operates more than 50 outdoor pools, most of which opened by the end of June and will close for the season on Sunday, August 31.
However, 15 locations, including popular spots like Christie Pits’ Alex Duff Memorial Pool, Sunnyside Gus Ryder Outdoor Pool, Donald D. Summerville Olympic Pools, and Riverdale Park East, will remain open until September 21 with reduced hours.
Splash pads across Toronto will continue running daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. until September 14, while wading pools will stay open through August 31. Residents are encouraged to check the City’s website for specific hours at individual pool locations before heading out.
Here is the complete list of pools which will stay open until September 21 this year:
- Coleman Park
- Don Russell Memorial Park
- Dufferin Grove Park
- Eglinton Park
- Halbert Park
- High Park
- Kew Gardens
- Knob Hill Park
- Prairie Drive Park
- Rexlington Park

- Sir Casimir Gzowski Park
- Summerlea Park

Lifeguard supervision and beach maintenance will also end at Toronto’s public beaches as of early September, either on September 1 or 7. You can find more details about public beaches on their website here.
