There’s nothing that gets you in the holiday spirit quite like twinkling lights and festive tunes, but year after year, this festival in Ontario continues to outdo itself.
The Winter Festival of Lights in Niagara Falls is now open for the season, welcoming guests back with over 75 installations, themed illuminations, and new interactive displays.
Returning for its 41st year, Canada’s largest free outdoor light festival will be open for 51 nights, running from November 18 2023 through January 7 2024.
You’ll be able to explore three million sparkling lights either by foot or from the warmth of your car on trails like the Enchanted Forest, Niagara Parkway, or Great Canadian North.
New for this year is the “Sparkling Winter Lights” illumination show, inspired by both subtle and harsh winter movements in the north.
You’ll be taken through everything from a gentle snowfall and mesmerizing colours of the aurora borealis to frozen waterfalls and a blizzard display. This five-minute installation will play every evening at 6 p.m., 7 p.m., and 8 p.m.
Warm up with a decadent cup of hot chocolate from the festival’s brand new self-guided hot chocolate trail, which includes 17 stops with 23 unique and mouth-watering flavours to choose from.
If you visit on a weekend or during the December holidays, don’t miss one of the 26 nightly fireworks shows.
