Between all the Christmas markets, winter activities, and pop-up bars to explore this season, we’ve got another event to add to your list that’s sure to spread the holiday spirit.
Winter Glow sponsored by GM Canada and Chevrolet returns to Sankofa Square (previously Yonge and Dundas Square) this December for its second year, bringing twinkling Christmas lights, carnival rides, games, and entertainment to the heart of Toronto.
If you’ve been reminiscing about late summer days at the Canadian Exhibition, you can at least get your fix of carnival snacks here like cotton candy, popcorn, churros, and candy apples.
Take a ride on the 45-ft-tall Ferris Wheel, Teacups, or Great Canadian Carousel before playing one of the various midway games.
There will also be a 30-ft-tall Tree of Remembrance, where visitors can donate in exchange for a yellow ribbon on which they can write a message to someone who has passed on before attaching it to the tree.
Running from December 5 – December 22, the event put on by a partnership with The Thornton-Smith Corporation, Astro Amusements, and The Rotary Club of Toronto will also be giving back, raising money for local charities.
Admission to Winter Glow is free to the public, though rides and games will require tickets for a fee. These can be purchased in person or on their website.
