The largest theme park in Canada is about to get even more thrilling, with the announcement of a new record-breaking roller coaster coming next year.
Canada’s Wonderland revealed Thursday that they will be introducing Canada’s longest, tallest, and fastest roller coaster in 2025, which features a dual-launch system reaching speeds of 115 km/h.
You’ll first blast through the inside of Wonder Mountain before being propelled out vertically 50 metres into the sky above its summit, followed by hurtling through the twists and turns of nine inversions – which is more than any other launch coaster in all of North America!
Set along a 1,000-metre-long track, AlpenFury will become Wonderland’s 19th roller coaster.
The ride is inspired by a mystical story of fire and ice, where villagers at the base of Wonder Mountain share tales that it is fact home to beasts and mystical forces.
“One legend holds that at the mountain’s core, fire and ice come together in their most raw, elemental states to create a powerful natural force that is both terrifying and awe-inspiring,” the website writes.
The roller coaster will be designed as a sleek and modern sled, “outfitted for a journey through the very heart of Wonder Mountain and beyond”.
The ride will be unveiled within a new area of the park called Alpenfest.
An exact launch date for AlpenFury is still to be determined, but we can’t wait to see the thrills it brings!
