For those who have anxiously been anticipating the announcement of this year’s Le Dîner En Blanc, unfortunately we have to be the bearer of bad news.
The official Toronto Instagram account announced that it will be taking a pause for 2025, citing “logistical issues beyond their control”.
The beloved global food event sees hundreds of guests dressed in all white come together in a secret location for an elegant evening picnic, complete with fashion, dancing, music, and celebrating with old friends and new. Guests are required to bring their own folding table and chairs, white tablecloth, napkins, and tableware, and when the evening ends, collect their belongings as if the dinner never occurred.
Historically, Toronto has seen over 1000 attendees show up for the glamorous outing, which has taken place in locations across the city like Fort York National Historic Site, Canoe Landing, and Ontario Place. None of the guests know where the picnic will be held until event organizers lead them there at the time of the dinner.
2024 marked the event’s 11th year, and while there won’t be a Toronto edition for 2025, they promised to be back and better than ever for 2026.
Alternatively, Dîner En Blanc will be going ahead in Montreal on September 5, so for any Torontonians up for a road trip, you’ll want to sign up on their website to register for an invitation ASAP!
