Divina Dalí is a mesmerizing adventure through the magical story of the Divine Comedy. We made our way to Brookfield Place to experience it for ourselves and let’s put it plainly: it was breathtaking. From the moment we stepped through the doors of Divina Dalí, art seemingly emerged from everywhere. Multimedia pieces, including gorgeous silk heliographs kept our attention and left us wanting more. And more, we got.
🚨 The exhibit will be leaving Toronto on December 17, so run over to Brookfield Place while you can! 🚨

We intricately made our way through the curtains before arriving at the Divine Comedy-inspired works, feeling as though we were in a real labyrinth. After walking through the creative works, we found ourselves immersed in the first themed room of the exhibition: Hell.
Red curtains set the tone for this dangerously addictive room that transported us straight into Dante’s universe. As we strolled through the numerous works, a black cherub, Ugolino, Ruggieri and an eerie Lucifer stared back at us. The experience was poignant, powerful and simply enthralling. Text accompanied some of the art, plunging us deeper into Dante’s incredible mind. We felt the need to sit for a bit before continuing on our artistic journey.
A bit further, and we’re now in Purgatory. A large, gray eye stares at us in wonder, making us question the relationship between this space and the last. Purgatory, hell… both point to one thing: paradise. And we found it. After navigating through the monochrome works of purgatory with its curated music, the doors to heaven opened before us.
Light filters in softly through stained glass windows, welcoming us into the last themed room of the experience. The artworks that stand before us fit the theme, continuously sending us for a whirlwind. We’re obviously thinking about Dalí and Dante’s chemistry — the two artists so anchored to their own work yet so connected to one another.
Through the entire experience, attendees — like us — sat on comfy ottomans to discuss the oeuvre in its entirety, pondering on the deeper meaning of these stunning artworks. We sat for a while too before making our way onto the last section of the exhibit… and surprise! A glittering shower of white strings kept us inside Brookfield Place for just a bit longer.
Illuminated with perfect blue dots that are reminiscent of the softness of paradise, it acts as the perfect finale for Divina Dalí. But of course, the journey didn’t end there: we had to check out the souvenir store once we exited the art exhibition! Phone booths, insightful coffee table books, fluffy sweaters… we felt tempted to snatch all of that memorabilia right up.
After securing some of those souvenirs, we made our way out of the venue — charged up after witnessing Dalí and Dante’s incredibly touching art.
🍷 For more artistic goodness, experience a “wine and opera” evening on December 16th — at the heart of the exhibit. Breathtaking violin performances, tasty European wines, and of course, Dalí’s most stunning works await. A part of ticket proceeds go over to the Ukrainian Canadian Social Services in Toronto!
