Toronto’s furry friends have one last chance to dive in before summer officially wraps up. This weekend on Sunday, September 21, 2025, select outdoor pools across the city will host a final free dog swim event before closing for the season.
This beloved tradition gives pups the opportunity to splash around and cool off while their humans cheer them on from the sidelines. Pet owners aged 18 and older can bring up to two dogs each, but keep in mind, this swim is for dogs only. Owners will not be permitted to join them in the water.
From 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., dogs can enjoy the pool at the following Toronto locations:
-
Goulding Community Recreation Centre
-
Heron Park Community Centre
-
McGregor Park Community Centre
-
Riverdale Park East
To participate, dogs must be up-to-date on rabies vaccinations, and proof of vaccination should be brought along. No advanced registration is required.
In addition to the fun, visitors are encouraged to support Toronto Animal Services by bringing donations of items like peanut butter, freeze-dried treats, or dog toys. Collection bins will be available at all participating pools.
This marks the final doggy swim of 2025, so don’t miss out on watching your four-legged pals paddle around before Toronto’s outdoor pools close until next summer.
