Connor McDavid’s electrifying overtime goal in Canada’s 3-2 victory over the U.S. in the 4 Nations Face-Off Final has earned him legendary status. And now, a McDonald’s is named in honor of Connor McDavid.
In a wholesome tribute, a McDonald’s in Edmonton, Alberta has temporarily rebranded as “McDavid’s” to celebrate the Canadian hockey superstar’s game-winning moment.
McDavid’s: A Golden Tribute to a Golden Goal
The McDonald’s location at 10375 51 Ave NW in Edmonton has been decked out with new signage, Canadian flags, and special promotions for hockey fans. This limited-time rebranding is part of a promise made by McDonald’s Canada to honor McDavid’s championship success.
The transformation follows a similar move by a Newmarket McDonald’s, near McDavid’s hometown, renamed “McDavid’s”. Both locations will feature:
- 🍔 The Big Mac-David Burger. A double Big Mac with extra patties, a nod to McDavid’s fast-paced, high-scoring style.
- 🍟 $0.97 Fries Special. Fans can grab a small order of fries for just 97 cents, representing McDavid’s No. 97 jersey.
- 🍽️ Exclusive McDavid Memorabilia. Limited-edition “McDavid’s” packaging and decor inside the restaurant.
A Celebration of Canadian Hockey Pride
McDavid’s overtime heroics in the 4 Nations Face-Off final were a defining moment for Canadian hockey, bringing the country together in celebration. Now, McDonald’s Canada is making sure fans can keep the party going with this fun, limited-time rebrand.
This isn’t the first time McDonald’s has honored the Edmonton Oilers captain. The fast-food giant initially promised to rename a restaurant if McDavid brought home the Stanley Cup. But after his golden goal for Team Canada, they decided that moment was worthy of celebration.
For one week only, “McDavid’s” in Edmonton and Newmarket will be the go-to spot for hockey fans looking to enjoy a meal while celebrating Canada’s latest hockey triumph.
