Ready to escape the city and step into a real-life winter wonderland? The Niagara Winter Festival of Lights is back for its 2025 season, and it’s going to be bigger, brighter, and easier to get to from Toronto than ever before.
Running from November 15, 2025, to January 4, 2026, Canada’s largest free outdoor light festival will once again transform Niagara Falls into a dazzling spectacle, complete with over three million lights and 75+ illuminated displays along an 8-kilometre route.

The best part? Walking or driving the light route is completely free. Here’s what to expect.
This year, the festival is seriously upping its game with several new attractions. Head to Queen Victoria Park for the brand-new Laser Light Spectacular, a must-see show where brilliant laser beams will dance to an energetic soundtrack, lighting up both the sky and the Falls.
Get ready for your close-up with 8 new immersive and hands-on installations, like the glowing SONIC RADIANT and COSMIC WOLF, which are perfect for that main-feed-worthy photo. The 8-kilometre route also features over 25 new displays, including giant snowflakes, shimmering animals, and a sparkling new light tunnel.

Beyond the new attractions, the classics are back and better than ever. Nothing beats the spectacle of fireworks over the Falls, which you can see lighting up the sky above the illuminated cascade. The fireworks schedule is set for every Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. from November 15 to December 20. The show will then run nightly from December 25 to January 4, with special shows on New Year’s Eve at both 8 p.m. and Midnight.
The Falls themselves also become part of the show with the “Sparkling Winter Lights” display, a special choreographed illumination running nightly at 6, 7, and 8 p.m.

Finally, don’t miss Dufferin Islands, a 10-acre park that serves as the heart of the festival, featuring whimsical Canadian wildlife displays like glowing moose and beavers, alongside other holiday figures. You can either drive or walk through this magical area.
Forget the QEW traffic, because getting there from Toronto has never been easier, even if you don’t have a car. Consider taking the GO Train, as GO Transit has expanded its weekend service just in time for the festival.
Starting November 1, there will be eight round trips on both Saturdays and Sundays between Toronto’s Union Station and the Niagara Falls GO Station. The best deal is to buy a GO/WEGO Combo Ticket, which bundles your round-trip GO train fare with a 2-day pass for the WEGO bus system in Niagara. The WEGO bus will pick you up from the GO station and take you directly to the festival route and other attractions. As a bonus, kids 12 and under ride free on GO.
You won’t want to miss this spectacular show!
